Spain has announced a €14.1 billion package to counter the economic impact of U.
S. tariffs and modernize its economy.
President Pedro Sánchez revealed the plan, which includes financial aid, industrial modernization, and support for internationalization, aiming to shield sectors like automotive and steel.
The initiative reallocates €6.7 billion from existing funds and introduces €7.4 billion in new financing.
Sánchez also urged the EU to adopt flexible state aid rules and explore new trade agreements.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo criticized the U.
S. tariffs and called for a unified national strategy, though internal political divisions remain.
The measures aim to protect Spanish exports, a quarter of which are at risk due to the tariffs.
