Spain's tourism industry is set for a 5.3% increase in sales this summer compared to 2023, according to a report by Exceltur.
Despite a slowdown from previous quarters, tourism GDP is projected to grow by 4.6% in real terms, reaching €202.65 billion and accounting for 13.2% of national GDP.
The Basque Country and Madrid lead regional growth expectations at 8.3% and 11.5% respectively.
Leisure services, passenger transport, and urban hotels in internationalized destinations anticipate the strongest performance.
However, coastal areas expect more modest growth.
The positive outlook is driven by strong European demand and recovering long-haul markets, particularly China.
