The Valencian government, led by PP and Vox, has sparked controversy by reducing the minimum distance for hotel construction from the coastline.
Through a new decree, the limit has been lowered from 500 meters to just 100 meters, raising concerns about environmental protection.
The opposition, including PSPV-PSOE and Compromís, has strongly criticized this move, calling it a return to 'predatory urbanism'.
The government defends the change, stating it will streamline administrative processes and boost economic development.
However, critics argue it threatens the coastal ecosystem and revives the risky practices of the past real estate bubble.
