Valencian President Carlos Mazón has publicly addressed the handling of the devastating DANA storm that struck on October 29, leaving over 200 dead.
In a parliamentary session, Mazón admitted to errors in the response, describing the situation as comparable to a war zone.
He announced the creation of a new "Consell for Recovery" and a Vice Presidency dedicated to reconstruction, acknowledging that the system failed to respond adequately.
Mazón criticized the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation for a two-hour information blackout during the crisis.
Despite calls for his resignation, he outlined plans for future improvements, emphasizing the need for national support in the recovery efforts.
Mazón's address aimed to restore confidence and chart a path forward for the Valencian community.
