A recent UNICEF Spain report highlights the top concerns of Spanish youth aged 11 to 18. Sexual abuse ranks as the most pressing issue, with nearly 90% expressing significant worry, especially among girls.
Other major concerns include war, poverty, and environmental issues.
Gender inequality, once a top concern, has dropped to 15th place, with a growing gender gap in its perceived importance.
Researchers attribute this shift to societal trends and increasing gender stereotypes, particularly among boys.
The report also reveals widespread distrust in politics, with two-thirds of youth viewing politicians as corrupt.
Emotional well-being remains a challenge, especially for girls and those from low-income backgrounds.
The findings reflect the evolving priorities and struggles of today’s youth.
