Antonio Garamendi, president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), has signaled a willingness to negotiate with the Ministry of Labor on reducing the work week.
This comes after the Ministry proposed more flexibility for companies in redistributing irregular working hours in 2025. Garamendi stated, 'It seems we are now entering negotiations again.
' However, he criticized the proposal, equating it to 'gifting almost 12 days of paid vacation per year by decree.
' The government aims to reduce the work week to 37.5 hours without salary cuts.
While negotiations have resumed, the CEOE maintains its stance against imposing changes without proper dialogue.
