Ciudad Real Hosts Iconic Carnival Parade

This Sunday, March 9, Ciudad Real will host the "Domingo de Piñata," one of Spain's most celebrated Carnival parades.

Declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest, the event will feature over 40 troupes and 4,500 participants from across Castilla-La Mancha and beyond.

The parade, which begins at 11:00 AM, will fill the streets with vibrant costumes, music, and elaborate floats.

Participants will compete for prizes totaling €30,500, including the coveted Arlequín de Oro worth €6,000. Despite concerns about the weather, excitement remains high as months of preparation culminate in this spectacular celebration.

The day will conclude with a lively awards ceremony at 5:30 PM in Paseo Pablo Picasso.
