Seville's Grand Procession Draws Millions

Seville is set to host a grand religious procession on December 8, 2024, marking the culmination of the II International Congress of Brotherhoods and Popular Piety.

This event, likened to a 'mini Holy Week,' will see over a million attendees flock to the Andalusian capital.

The procession will feature revered images such as La Esperanza de Triana, La Macarena, and El Gran Poder, among others.

The route will stretch from the Cathedral to the Paseo de Colón, with each image accompanied by up to 300 members of its brotherhood.

The event coincides with the national holiday of the Immaculate Conception, adding to its significance.

However, the procession will impact local traffic, with parking restrictions in place in the Triana and Casco Antiguo areas.

The city has arranged alternative parking to ease congestion.
