Controversy Surrounds Job for PM's Brother

David Sánchez, brother of Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, is embroiled in a legal investigation over alleged irregularities in his hiring by the Diputación de Badajoz.

The controversy centers on the creation of a job position for Sánchez, which was reportedly established urgently and without clear necessity, according to a report by the Guardia Civil's Central Operational Unit (UCO).

The report suggests that the position was created shortly after Miguel Ángel Gallardo, leader of the PSOE in Extremadura, initially resisted hiring more staff.

Both Sánchez and Gallardo are set to appear in court on January 9th.

The defense argues that the accusations are based on misunderstandings and errors, while political figures call for a swift judicial resolution to dispel rumors and clarify responsibilities.
