Doctors Demand Fair Work Conditions

Doctors across Spain are protesting against the proposed reforms to the Estatuto Marco, a law governing healthcare professionals' working conditions.

They demand a separate statute recognizing their unique responsibilities, fair pay, and improved work hours.

Current conditions include long shifts with low pay, which they argue are unsustainable.

The protests, organized by various medical unions, began with regional demonstrations and will culminate in a national rally on February 13. The unions also oppose proposed incompatibility rules and subjective performance evaluations.

Health Minister Mónica García has stated that the reforms aim to end precarious contracts and improve conditions, but negotiations with unions remain tense.
