Juan José Güemes, a former Madrid councilor and current president of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at IE Business School, has been implicated in a legal case involving Begoña Gómez, the wife of Spain's Prime Minister.

The investigation, led by Judge Juan Carlos Peinado, centers on allegations of corruption and influence peddling.

Güemes, initially called as a witness, was reclassified as a suspect after inconsistencies in his testimony emerged.

The case originated from claims that Gómez was hired under questionable circumstances at the IE Africa Center, with alleged financial benefits from Globalia-Air Europa.

The investigation continues as more testimonies are gathered.
