Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of Spain's Popular Party (PP), has intensified his criticism of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, accusing him of undermining democracy.
Feijóo has formally demanded Sánchez present a defense spending plan, the 2025 state budget, and convene the Debate on the State of the Nation.
He argues that Sánchez avoids parliamentary votes to mask his government’s "isolation" and calls him a "zombie president.
" Feijóo also criticized Sánchez for centralizing power and bypassing democratic processes, stating that "nothing justifies overriding citizens' rights.
" Additionally, Feijóo addressed internal challenges, urging far-right party Vox to cooperate rather than attack the PP.
The opposition leader emphasized the need to defend democracy while addressing national defense and governance issues.
