The leader of Spain's Popular Party (PP), Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has strongly criticized Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez for lacking a clear plan to increase defense spending.
Following a brief meeting at La Moncloa, Feijóo expressed frustration over the absence of detailed proposals, accusing Sánchez of attempting to bypass parliamentary approval.
The government aims to raise defense spending to meet NATO's 2% GDP target, but Feijóo insists such decisions must involve Congress.
Sánchez's approach has also faced resistance from coalition partners and opposition parties, complicating efforts to secure consensus.
While Feijóo supports increased defense funding, he demands transparency and parliamentary debate, warning against unilateral actions that could undermine democratic processes.
