The national leadership of the Popular Party (PP) has declared its intention to act as a "barrier" against the recent agreement between ERC and PSC, which aims to establish a unique economic concert for Catalonia.
This pact, part of the negotiations for the investiture of Salvador Illa, has sparked outrage among PP leaders, who view it as a threat to public service funding and a violation of constitutional principles.
Prominent regional leaders, including those from Valencia, Andalusia, and Madrid, have vowed to challenge the agreement in court, labeling it a "fiscal coup" and an act of political corruption.
They argue that this move undermines the principle of solidarity among Spanish regions and could lead to significant inequalities in public service financing.
The PP plans to mobilize legal actions against the agreement, asserting that it will not remain passive in the face of what they consider an unconstitutional initiative.
