PP's Risky Alliance with Junts

The Spanish Popular Party (PP) has sparked controversy by aligning with Junts, the Catalan independence party, to block a tax on energy companies.

This move marks a significant shift for the PP, which previously condemned Junts and its leader, Carles Puigdemont.

While PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo insists these agreements align with his principles and are free of "threats or blackmail," internal party divisions are growing.

Critics within the PP warn against legitimizing alliances with separatists, fearing it could undermine the party's stance on national unity.

Feijóo, however, remains firm, stating that such collaborations are necessary to advance his agenda in Congress.

The alliance has raised questions about the future of Spain's political landscape and the PP's strategy moving forward.
