Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has announced a series of meetings with parliamentary leaders to discuss the war in Ukraine and defense spending, excluding the far-right party Vox.
The decision comes amid growing tensions over Spain's role in European security and the potential deployment of troops to Ukraine.
Opposition leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo criticized the exclusion of Vox, calling it an "apartheid," while also emphasizing the need for parliamentary debate on defense policies.
Sánchez, facing resistance from coalition partners on increased military spending, may rely on the conservative Popular Party for support.
The talks mark a rare direct engagement between Sánchez and Feijóo, highlighting the urgency of unity in addressing Europe's security challenges.
