Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has announced a minor cabinet reshuffle following the departure of two key ministers.
José Luis Escrivá, the Minister of Digital Transformation, has been appointed as the new Governor of the Bank of Spain, while Teresa Ribera, the Vice President for Ecological Transition, is set to join the European Commission.
To fill these gaps, Sánchez has appointed Óscar López, his trusted Chief of Staff, as the new Minister of Digital Transformation.
López, a seasoned political figure within the PSOE, is expected to strengthen the government's political profile.
Meanwhile, Diego Rubio, an independent with a strategic vision, will take over as Chief of Staff.
These changes come as Sánchez aims to reinforce his government amidst strong opposition and parliamentary challenges, emphasizing his commitment to completing the legislative term.
