The President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has announced a significant government reshuffle at the halfway point of the legislative term.

Catalina García has been removed from her position as Health Minister amid widespread criticism of her management of the public health system, particularly regarding primary care and long waiting lists.

She will now oversee the newly created Ministry of Sustainability and Environment.

Rocío Hernández Soto, an independent pediatrician, will take over as the new Health Minister.

Additionally, Patricia del Pozo returns to lead the Culture and Sports Ministry, while Carolina España has been appointed as the new government spokesperson.

This restructuring aims to address ongoing issues within the government and prepare for the upcoming 2026 regional elections.
