Severe Weather Hits Valencia and Almería

Published: 2024-11-03

The Spanish regions of Valencia and Almería are facing severe weather conditions as the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) issues red alerts due to the DANA phenomenon, which brings intense rainfall and potential flooding.

Valencia has been placed under a red alert for the second time in five days, with expectations of torrential rains reaching up to 90 liters per square meter.

Meanwhile, Almería's alert has been downgraded to yellow, but authorities continue to urge caution.

The heavy rains have already caused significant disruptions, including the postponement of the Almería-Córdoba football match.

Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay informed through official channels.

The situation is expected to stabilize by next week, although sporadic showers may persist in the Mediterranean region.
