Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has announced a comprehensive emergency aid package worth €10.6 billion to support regions affected by the recent storm, particularly in the Valencian Community.

The aid, which will be universal and not subject to income thresholds, aims to assist households, businesses, and local institutions in rebuilding and adapting to climate challenges.

The plan includes immediate response measures, reconstruction of essential infrastructure, and long-term transformation to address climate impacts.

Sánchez emphasized the need for swift and transparent distribution of aid, ensuring minimal bureaucracy.

Additionally, he highlighted the importance of new budgets to accommodate these financial commitments, urging cooperation across political lines.

The government is also seeking support from the European Union's Solidarity Fund to bolster these efforts.
