The Spanish State Attorney has requested the Supreme Court to dismiss the case against the State Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, and the Chief Prosecutor of Madrid, Pilar Rodríguez, for allegedly leaking confidential information about Alberto González Amador, the partner of Madrid's regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
The defense argues that the leaked emails, which allegedly revealed tax offenses by Amador, were published in the press before the prosecutors had access to them.
The State Attorney also seeks testimony from Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, Ayuso's Chief of Staff, due to indications that he accessed part of the leaked emails.
Meanwhile, Amador accuses García Ortiz of obstructing the investigation, claiming a lack of cooperation with the judiciary.
The case has sparked political tensions, with calls for García Ortiz's resignation amid allegations of political maneuvering and media leaks.
