The President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, has announced a preliminary agreement with Vox to approve the 2025 regional budget.
This deal includes adopting Vox's stances on immigration and environmental policies, such as rejecting the EU's Green Deal and limiting the intake of migrant minors.
While the national leadership of the Popular Party (PP) has endorsed the agreement, it has sparked internal tensions, as Mazón's positions diverge from the broader party's European commitments.
The agreement is seen as a move to stabilize Mazón's leadership amid judicial scrutiny over his handling of a recent natural disaster.
Vox has praised the deal, calling it a step in the right direction.
The pact could set a precedent for similar agreements in other regions where the PP governs in minority coalitions.
