Azcón Pushes for Fair Funding in Aragón

Published: 2024-10-10

Jorge Azcón, President of Aragón, has presented a comprehensive proposal to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, advocating for a revised funding system that considers Aragón's unique challenges.

The proposal, sent ahead of their meeting, outlines 44 key points, emphasizing the need for funding based on the real cost of public services, considering factors like low population density and geographical challenges.

Azcón's document, which has been agreed upon by all political parties in Aragón, also addresses infrastructure needs, water management, energy development, and public services.

The aim is to secure budgetary commitments from the national government to support Aragón's development.

This meeting is part of a series of discussions Sánchez is holding with regional leaders, focusing on issues like migration and territorial funding.
