Madrid's train services faced significant disruptions over the weekend due to a series of incidents.

A train derailment in the high-speed tunnel between Atocha and Chamartín stations caused major delays, affecting thousands of passengers.

The situation worsened when an unauthorized individual threatened to jump onto the tracks at Atocha, leading to a suspension of services and leaving many travelers stranded.

Renfe reported that around 8,000 people were impacted by these events, with trains halted and passengers left in the dark.

Efforts are underway to clear the tunnel, but normal service resumption remains uncertain.
