In a heated session at the Spanish Senate, Ángel Víctor Torres, the Minister of Territorial Policy, firmly denied allegations of soliciting a €50,000 bribe from businessman Víctor de Aldama.
The accusations, linked to a 2020 mask procurement contract during Torres' presidency in the Canary Islands, were brought to light by Aldama, who claimed the request was made through Koldo García, an associate of former minister José Luis Ábalos.
Torres, who has filed a lawsuit against Aldama for defamation, emphasized the lack of evidence supporting these claims and reiterated his commitment to transparency.
He stated that if any proof of wrongdoing were presented, he would resign immediately.
The session saw intense exchanges, with Torres defending his integrity and challenging the credibility of the accusations, which he labeled as baseless slander.
