Ángel Víctor Torres, Spain's Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, has announced he is battling prostate cancer.

Speaking at a PSOE congress in Gran Canaria, Torres assured supporters that the condition is operable and expressed optimism about his recovery.

Despite the diagnosis, he plans to remain in his ministerial role, albeit with a reduced schedule, and will undergo surgery in late April.

Torres, a prominent figure in Spanish politics, received widespread support, including a heartfelt message from Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who praised his dedication and humanity.

Torres emphasized his commitment to his duties, stating, "Everything will turn out well," and vowed to return stronger after his treatment.
