Pedro Sánchez, the current Secretary General of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), has successfully gathered the necessary 5,300 endorsements to formalize his candidacy for re-election.
Despite being the sole candidate, Sánchez sought to demonstrate strong support within the party by collecting endorsements, a move seen as a strategy to prevent any last-minute challengers.
While most regional leaders have backed him, notable exceptions include Emiliano García-Page of Castilla-La Mancha and Javier Lambán of Aragón, who have not provided their endorsements.
The upcoming 41st Federal Congress in Sevilla, scheduled for late November, is expected to confirm Sánchez's leadership, as he remains unopposed.
This process underscores his continued influence and the party's strategic direction under his leadership.
