The San Fermín festival in Pamplona, Spain, began on Saturday with the traditional chupinazo rocket launch.
Members of the Duguna dance group, celebrating its 75th anniversary, fired the rocket at noon from the City Hall balcony.
Thousands of white-clad revelers packed the square, shouting 'Viva San Fermín!' as the festivities commenced.
The nine-day celebration, known for its bull runs, will feature 204 hours of non-stop partying.
Despite rainy weather, the enthusiasm remained high, with visitors from around the world joining locals in the revelry.
The festival, which includes concerts, fireworks, and cultural events, will conclude on July 14th.
