Spain's Congress has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the 2017 terror attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils.
The inquiry, driven by political parties including PSOE, Sumar, Junts, and Esquerra, aims to clarify unresolved issues from the original judicial investigation.
A list of 29 individuals, including former political leaders Mariano Rajoy and Carles Puigdemont, as well as police officials and victims, will testify.
The commission seeks to uncover potential intelligence oversights, particularly concerning the alleged connections between the CNI and the attack's mastermind, Abdelbaki Es Satty.
The investigation also calls for the declassification of secret intelligence documents to shed light on these events.
This move is part of a broader effort to address suspicions and provide transparency regarding the tragic incidents that resulted in 16 deaths and numerous injuries.
