A devastating wildfire in the Zamora region of Spain has claimed the life of a 65-year-old man who suffered a heart attack during evacuation efforts.
The fire, which began in the pine forests of Aliste, has spread over 200 hectares, prompting the evacuation of Sejas de Aliste and Trabazos.
Despite challenging conditions, firefighters have managed to contain 70% of the blaze, aided by improved weather conditions and aerial support.
The fire's origin remains under investigation, with suspicions of arson due to the absence of natural causes.
Local authorities and emergency services continue to work tirelessly to control the fire and ensure the safety of residents, many of whom have been temporarily relocated to nearby shelters.
