Atlantic Storm Brings Heavy Rains to Spain

Published: 2025-04-01

Spain is bracing for heavy rains as an Atlantic storm, potentially named Nuria, approaches midweek.

Starting Wednesday, widespread showers will affect much of the country, with the heaviest rainfall expected in the Central System and western Andalusia, where up to 60 liters per square meter could accumulate.

Galicia and other central regions may see 30-40 liters.

Temperatures will drop significantly, with some areas experiencing a 10-degree plunge.

While the week begins with stable weather and highs above 20°C in many regions, the storm will bring cooler, wetter conditions.

By the weekend, rainfall is expected to ease, with temperatures gradually rising again.

The Canary Islands will also see intermittent showers, particularly early in the week.
