Spain is currently experiencing a severe heatwave, with temperatures soaring close to 40 degrees Celsius in many regions.
Nine autonomous communities, including Andalusia and Catalonia, are under yellow alert due to the extreme heat, while Gran Canaria faces an orange alert for significant risk.
The heatwave has already led to 771 heat-related deaths in July alone, highlighting the serious health risks associated with such high temperatures.
The situation is exacerbated by a DANA weather phenomenon bringing dust from North Africa, further deteriorating air quality.
Despite a slight cooling in some areas, the heat is expected to persist, with warnings of continued high temperatures in the coming days.
Authorities urge residents to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours to mitigate health risks.
