Spain Faces Another Heatwave

Published: 2024-08-05

Spain is bracing for another wave of extreme heat as temperatures are expected to soar above 40 degrees Celsius in several regions, particularly in Castilla-La Mancha, where cities like Toledo and Ciudad Real are under orange alert.

The heatwave, which has persisted for nearly two weeks, will see maximum temperatures reaching 40 degrees in some areas, while other regions will experience highs between 35 and 39 degrees.

The Agency of Meteorology (AEMET) has issued warnings for 12 autonomous communities, with significant risks in regions like Extremadura and the Comunidad Valenciana.

Although a slight drop in temperatures is anticipated over the weekend, the heat is expected to return next week, with stable weather conditions and the possibility of isolated thunderstorms in mountainous areas.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against the heat.
